The end of December brings the end of another year, as well as the end of our annual Dimebag guitar raffle for charity. This year's winner is Emily from Harlem, and it's the third year in row a guitar player won - perfect. We raised $710 for VH1's Save The Music Foundation in the name of Dimebag Darrell Abbott, and managed to have one the wildest parties of 2007 in the process. All in all, a fitting tribute to Dime. As always, much thanks to John C, Dean Guitars, and everyone who bought a chance for charity.

Today marks the 3rd anniversary of the passing the legendary Dimebag. We'll be celebrating his life and times this evening at the bar with the cats from Obituary and the rest of the bands from B.E.F. We'll also be kicking off our annual Dimebag guitar raffle for charity (view all the details on the raffle and B.E.F. below in the posting from December 2nd). Right here is one of the videos I filmed with MTV2 at the bar, for a series called "Tales from the Barside." In this bit I recall, to the best of my abilities, a raucous night at the bar with the Man himself. It brings a smile to my face, and hopefully, today, it will to you too - JD

Saturday December 8th also sadly marks the passing of the larger than life Dimebag Darrell. We'll be holding our annual Dime party this night, celebrating the life and music of the man. In addition, we'll also kick off our annual Dime guitar raffle for charity. This year we'll be raffling off a Dean Dimebag Darrell Tribute ML guitar, generously donated by our friends at Dean guitars. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to VH1's Save The Music Foundation, a charity favored by Dime. Tickets are $10 each - No purchase necessary, and the winner need not be present when winning ticket is drawn, Saturday, Dec. 22nd. Behemoth ended their recent tour, with Gojira and Job for a Cowboy, here in NYC at Irving Plaza (never mind the new bogus "Fillmore" tag), on November 18th. Following the gig, Behemoth frontman Nergal generously donated his guitar from the tour to DUFF'S, where it is now on display.

In addition, applications are now being accepted online at CBS.com for the ninth installment of the reality series which will be broadcast in 2008 on dates to be announced. Julie Chen will return as host for Big Brother 9 and the series will once again be executive produced by Emmy Award winner Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan, in association with Endemol U.S.A.

BIG BROTHER 9 will follow a group of strangers living together in a house outfitted with dozens of cameras and microphones recording their every move 24 hours a day, seven days a week. One by one, the houseguests will vote each other out of the house until at the end of three months, the last remaining houseguest will win the grand prize.

Casting Directors from VH1/51 Minds Entertainment (Christopher Catalano & Douglas Howington), will be looking for girls 21+, single and who are looking to win the love of the ROCKSTAR of their dreams. Auditions will be held in Manhattan the following week and girls that we approve will be given an individual audition slot and have an on-camera audition.

ALL girls are required to be at least 21 years of age as of November 1, 2007 and MUST be single. Single means they are not engaged, separated from spouse, "getting" divorced or married. Single means, divorced is final, and not in a serious relationship.

We of course want ALL ethnicities and ALL types!

So here is the information I have so far for the show: I am casting for VH1 / 51 Minds Entertainment, the Producers of "The Surreal Life", "Flavor of Love", "I Love New York" and “Rock of Love”.

I will be in New York and surrounding areas, (Long Island, New Jersey) from September 4 – 12, 2007, looking for SINGLE WOMEN, 21+, with big personalities for this VH1 ROCK N' ROLL RELATIONSHIP SHOW, where 20 girls will compete for the chance to date the ROCKSTAR of their dreams. (the rock star has not been announced yet, but I would think someone that makes the girls wild and girls would do anything just to meet this guy, a Tommy Lee type of rocker).

There currently is a show on VH1 called Rock of Love with the lead being ‘80s pop metal band POISON frontman, Bret Michaels. Bret sets off on a determined search for a mate. Michaels needs a woman who can handle his rockstar lifestyle--someone who won't get jealous of his main mistress: music. Bret will design challenges to test each girls' ability to handle every aspect of his life. The women that rock his world will be given VIP passes and will be allowed to stay in his house. The others will be sent home until in the end when one lucky lady will be a true Rock Star Girlfriend.

So we’re looking for girls of ALL types. In my opinion ideally they would be 24 years old and older. I want hardcore rocker chicks, tattooed, big hair, drinks beer, rockin body and looks like a rockstar wouldn’t mind bringing her on his arm to any star studded event. Most of the girls would be Caucasian, but that is not all I want. At the end of the day I want girls that are HOT and have a ton of personality.

Next week, DUFF'S will be the site of a casting call for a new VH1 Rock n' Roll relationship show, in the vein of this season's "Rock of Love" with Bret Michaels.

Producers are looking for the 20 women "that will compete for the rock star of their dreams." The Rockstar is as of yet unnamed. Unfortunately ladies, it will not be me since I'm spoken for . More details to be announced here soon - Stay tuned - J.D.
